Pros

We set up a good culture. We hired all capable QA and SDET. There was lots of bounding and a smooth process. There was lots of learning and responsibility.

Cons
  • Got toxic after layoff of a few initial members.
  • Others were asked to leave after hiring an incapable EM.
  • Many people joined and left the leadership team, and no one knows the actual reason.
  • Toxic work culture while leaving. The leadership team openly insulted EMs and leads.
  • Got so toxic that they stopped promoting existing old members and asked them to work over the weekend for hiring and other ad-hoc tasks.
Advice to Management
  • Hire capable EM and leaders.
  • Get rid of so much internal politics.
  • Promote deserving candidates based on work done.
