Principle Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The interview process consists of the following:

  • Recruiter call (30 min): General questions about background and introduction to the overall company.
  • Technical screening (1 hr code pair): The question was LeetCode Easy/Medium, I would say (with follow-ups). Nothing crazy.

After clearing the initial screening, there was team matching (because the final round was going to be taken by people from the same/sibling teams).

Final Round: All of the final round contained 10-15 minutes of behavioral questions within them. So, it was 40% behavioral and 60% coding. All these sessions were 1 hour long.

  • 2 System Designs:
    • One was about scaling & fault-tolerant systems.
    • The second was related to finding properties by location/city, etc.
  • 2 Coding: LeetCode Medium (Graph BFS/DFS question).

Overall, everyone I met was super nice, patient, and respectful. They also provided hints. It was good conversation. While I am still waiting for interview feedback, I can say that the interview process was pretty good and satisfying.

Questions

LeetCode medium questions:

  • Sliding window
  • Graph DFS/BFS with backtracking
