For the most part, I enjoyed my time at Zillow. They are concerned about career growth, creating an environment of impactful work and inclusion.
Constant org changes provide an opportunity for you to work for the wrong manager/director. In my case, it ultimately ended my career.
People's lives and careers are not a game, nor are they disposable. Often, a grumpy tenured employee will get a high-level position but with no prior technical experience in a vertical or department. If you do not see eye to eye, it's a game of managing you out. It's unfortunate that often new, shiny talent is the answer versus internal movement.
