Great location, "9 to 5" work pace, co-workers generally very kind.
Schizophrenic management that lacks focus, a lack of trust in the judgment of subordinates, and a tendency to micromanage. Several high-level managers were incompetent and control freaks. Their bosses were unwilling or unable to recognize the problems and take corrective action before these people "poisoned" the company and the culture.
Be more prepared to fire the dead weight. Trust the people you hire to do their job on their own, or boot them out the door. Don't bury your head in the sand when your entire team comes to you with the same problem.
