• Solid overall company with clear product vision. • Competitive benefits and generally good global culture. • Interesting technical challenges. • Colleagues are capable and collaborative (outside specific leadership issues). • Intent to support teams is present (resources, willingness to help).
• Cultural equity doesn’t feel consistent for teams in Mexico (less voice/visibility in decisions). • Team leadership (in my org) lacked openness to feedback and changed direction frequently. • Mixed messages on pace vs. urgency (planned “relaxed” sprints turning into rush deadlines). • Micromanagement tendencies despite stated support. • Decisions defended even against clear data, causing rework and friction. • Impact of a junior manager without sufficient managerial maturity.
Invest in developing leadership skills for new managers and make sure teams in Mexico are treated as equal partners in decisions. Promote openness to feedback, reduce micromanagement, and ensure planning aligns with actual delivery expectations. - You are not following your own inclusion values, you are new in Mexico, but anyways Mexico people does not feel safe with your management.
