Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

Recruiter interview for 30 minutes. I found the recruiter very knowledgeable and had some computer science knowledge too.

After that, a 1-hour technical interview with two members of the team.

Questions

The questions were really dumb. There were no algorithm or data structures questions. They were very basic language-related questions. For the questions, you had to know the exact syntax and how it was used in the specific programming language. Some were pretty weird, tricky language-related questions that one only knows when they start preparing for interviews, and after some time, everyone forgets them.

The first interviewer was okay, but the second one had no emotion. From his expression, there was no way to tell if you were answering the questions right or wrong.
