Pros

Not a single one. Literally not a single one.

Cons

Absolutely incompetent engineering managers in this company. This company does not do Agile like they claim they do. I repeat: this is not an Agile shop. It is 100% pure waterfall. Literally nothing can be planned past two weeks. But every single task has to go through a waterfall system of broken testing, broken deployment, and awful TestRail documentation that is putting lipstick on a pig. Engineering managers have zero ability to actually manage. They don't know how software development works.

Advice to Management

Fire your EMs. EMs, feel free to quit because clearly you guys aren't the ones up to par. If you don't know how to manage your upper managers and give in to every single one of their whims because you're so worried about your own job security, then clearly this job isn't right for you. Managing is about working with your developers to create sensible tasks.
