Pros
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Recurring equity grants
  • Parts of the tech stack use the latest and greatest techs
  • Some great peers
Cons
  • Severely mismanaged from the top. Leadership pretends or does not care to address the dumpster fire.
  • Work-life balance does not exist.
  • Little room for growth.
  • The engineering org has a lean headcount. Expect to do the work of 2+ people.
  • Many individuals with questionable titles or tenure. These individuals will get in your way and cause issues. How did they get hired? Why haven't they been fired?
  • Professionalism is severely lacking. At times, it is unbelievable how people conduct themselves or how they got this far in their careers. During an all-hands, the CEO had to ask the company to be more professional over Slack, like a principal addressing the school auditorium.
Advice to Management

Slow down. Start measuring talent and performance in meaningful ways instead of checking arbitrary boxes. Shake up your senior management. Too many of them are focused on protecting their fiefdoms instead of empowering their reports. Change the culture and focus on acting professional, like the other companies of this size.
