The SW engineering team has some of the best engineers I have worked with. Original designs, prior to the arrival of the "Intel mafia," are stellar, and I continue to learn a lot of cool insights into the AV space from them.
The current CEO brought with her a lot of folks from the Intel mobile division, which was known as a political minefield. You can see the difference clearly in folks who were there at Zoox prior and the new 'Intel mafia'. The mood turned quite hostile since they have joined, and our focus has turned from designing good products to turf wars. I left and have been much happier since!
