A recruiter approached me through LinkedIn and set up four virtual Zoom interviews in two days. Since the position was for a new team, the interviews went well, and I liked the interviewers' ways of handling the process, their approach, and their respect for me.
The next day, the recruiter sent an email and asked me to have another three rounds of interviews. I explained that I had already completed them.
Later on, he realized his mistake and mentioned to me that he had received positive feedback from all the interviewers. However, there was another candidate ahead of me and in discussion for an offer letter. He also mentioned that the other candidate had been lingering for the past six weeks and had received a verbal offer.
I don't know why the recruiter was trying to schedule more interviews if there was already a finalist candidate with whom they were talking even before my process started. It was a complete waste of time, and I felt the recruiter was not reliable. He should respect candidates' time.
