Job Description

Abbott, a global healthcare leader with 114,000 colleagues serving in more than 160 countries, is seeking a Staff Cloud DevOps/Kubernetes Engineer to join their innovative diabetes care division. This role focuses on building and maintaining critical cloud infrastructure that supports life-changing diabetes management technologies.

The position involves working on a medical device SaaS platform that helps improve the lives of hundreds of millions living with diabetes. As a Staff Cloud DevOps Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure across eleven global regions, implementing DevOps best practices, and ensuring high availability and security of systems.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience, with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code. You'll work at the intersection of healthcare and technology, applying your technical skills to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives. The role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while contributing to Abbott's mission of revolutionizing diabetes care through innovative sensing technology.

Responsibilities For Staff Cloud DevOps/Kubernetes Engineer

  • Perform DevOps activities across multiple Cloud Service Providers in eleven global regions
  • Establish configuration management and automate infrastructure
  • Implement continuous integration and DevOps best practices
  • Build scalable, highly available, efficient, and secure cloud infrastructure for medical device SaaS
  • Plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy secure cloud infrastructure as code
  • Evaluate new technology alternatives and implement cloud-based initiatives
  • Build and maintain CI/CD Pipeline
  • Collaborate with InfoSec to ensure infrastructure security
  • Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
  • Manage creation, release, and configuration of production systems

Requirements For Staff Cloud DevOps/Kubernetes Engineer

Kubernetes
Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant technical fields
  • Minimum 8 total years of experience
  • 2-4 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure
  • Experience with container orchestration services (Kubernetes)
  • Strong foundation of networking and Linux administration
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with AWS services (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, Code Deploy, CloudFront, S3)
