Agile Six is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer with a frontend focus to join their team in building critical digital solutions for Veterans. This remote position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working on high-profile federal platforms. The role involves designing and implementing Veteran-facing digital forms and multi-party workflows, with a strong emphasis on frontend architecture and integration with backend APIs.
The position requires expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks, combined with a deep understanding of accessibility standards and secure data handling. You'll be working with the VA Design System, implementing complex validations, and ensuring compliance with federal security requirements. The role involves both hands-on coding and system-level architectural decisions.
Working in small, cross-functional teams, you'll collaborate with researchers, designers, and product managers in an Agile environment. The position emphasizes rapid prototyping, automated testing, and innovative development approaches, including the use of AI tools to optimize form delivery. You'll be responsible for mentoring colleagues and contributing to code reviews, helping to strengthen the team's technical capabilities.

Responsibilities For Senior Fullstack (Frontend Focused) Engineer (Remote - US)
- Build intuitive, accessible, and production-ready digital forms using the VA Design System and VA forms system
- Integrate front-end solutions with backend APIs and submission endpoints
- Implement complex validations, conditional logic, and privacy controls
- Design multi-party workflows for Veterans, employers, and medical providers
- Generate PDFs/JSON while maintaining data integrity and compliance
- Write automated tests for form logic, validations, accessibility, and output accuracy
- Collaborate with small cross-functional teams leveraging AI and innovative tools
- Support system scalability, troubleshoot production issues, and improve development processes
- Mentor colleagues, participate in code reviews, and share knowledge
Requirements For Senior Fullstack (Frontend Focused) Engineer (Remote - US)
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with focus on front-end frameworks
- 4+ years of recent experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript
- At least one year of experience building products within the VA.gov ecosystem
- Expertise in the VA Design System and accessibility standards
- Experience with automated testing tools (Cypress, Playwright, axe, pa11y)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Experience in Agile, self-organizing environments
- Deep understanding of secure handling of PII and privacy compliance
- Ability to design scalable solutions
- Must have lived and worked in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years
