Engineering Manager, Payments (Risk Agent Experience)

Airbnb is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Payments Risk Agent Experience team. This role is crucial in overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of tools and systems designed to mitigate payment risks. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and develop strategies to automate tooling for agents and the engineering community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Shaping technical strategy and driving alignment with stakeholders
• Managing daily stand-ups and supporting engineers
• Collaborating with the team in India for on-call support
• Migrating existing tools to newer tech stacks
• Staying updated on industry best practices

The role requires:

• 3-5+ years of engineering management experience
• 9+ years of industry experience (with BS/Masters) or 6+ years (with PhD)
• Strong coding abilities and experience with large-scale applications
• Experience in building payments or relevant systems
• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Track record in partnering with recruiting to build engineering teams
• Active coaching and mentoring of team members
