Description For Senior Software Engineer, Community Support Platform - Chatbot

Airbnb's Community Support Platform (CSP) team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Chatbot Product team. This role is at the intersection of AI and customer service, focusing on revolutionizing Airbnb's approach to customer support. You'll be working on developing innovative solutions that combine AI capabilities with human expertise to deliver exceptional customer service.

The position involves creating both backend workflows for LLM-driven chatbots and frontend user experiences across different platforms. You'll be part of a diverse team of engineers working on cutting-edge technology that empowers Airbnb's global network of Community Support ambassadors.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Community Support Platform - Chatbot

  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to execute product and business strategy
  • Drive and contribute to full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Review code and design docs, provide feedback on product specs and mocks
  • Nurture technical quality culture from design through production operations
  • Create innovative user experience for AI driven customer service products
  • Develop backend workflows for LLM driven chatbot and frontend user experience

Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Community Support Platform - Chatbot

  • 5-9+ years of industry experience with BS/Masters or 2+ years with PhD
  • Strong expertise with backend systems in service-oriented architectures
  • Experience with frontend or full stack development
  • Experience with chatbot/AI product (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well within teams across engineering, product & design organizations
  • Passion for efficiency, availability, technical quality and system quality
  • Collaborative mindset for code reviews and architecture discussions
