Join Airbus's Structures Nonlinear Simulation & Virtual Testing department as an AI & Structural Analysis Engineer intern. This 12.5-month placement offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and aerospace engineering. Based in Bristol, UK, you'll be part of a diverse 30-person team spread across six Airbus sites, focusing on developing cutting-edge structural analysis solutions.

Responsibilities For Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Structural Analysis Engineer Placement (12.5 months)

  • Explore using AI to improve simulation process and lead time
  • Software tool development for testing and maintenance approaches using coding and scripting
  • Learn and apply scripting and coding skills alongside structural testing techniques
  • Learn about aircraft design, manufacture and in-service support
  • Learn about Structures Tests used to develop, validate and certify Aircraft
  • Work alongside Test Engineers, Simulation Engineers, and Software Engineers

Requirements For Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Structural Analysis Engineer Placement (12.5 months)

Python
  • Must be an undergraduate student for the whole duration of the placement
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering / Computer Science
  • Experience in coding or scripting languages, Python is preferred
  • Basic skills with Git and GitLab
  • Mathematical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Finite Element Method is a plus
  • Knowledge of Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Large Language Model is a plus
  • Must pass BPSS security clearance
