Job Description

Join Airbus Flight Physics team as a Junior Data Science Engineer intern for a 12.5-month placement in Bristol. This role sits within the Flight Physics Capabilities and Strategy team, responsible for developing tools and capabilities used across Flight Physics departments including Aerodynamics, Loads and Aeroelastics, Mass Properties, and Flight Physics Capability & Strategy.

As an intern, you'll make significant contributions through a main project focused on data analytics and visualization of Flight Physics data. You'll develop visualization frameworks using three-tier web app architecture, enabling engineers to create customizable visualizations with both static and dynamic data. The role involves applying modern data analytics and machine learning algorithms to analyze Flight Physics datasets, creating impactful visualizations that drive strategic transformations.

The position offers excellent benefits including a £23,400 salary, 35-hour work weeks with half-day Fridays, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Python, React, and TypeScript while contributing to real aerospace engineering challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates studying Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or Engineering to gain hands-on experience in a world-leading aerospace company. You'll be part of a team responsible for aircraft design activities across all development stages, from pre-design to in-service support, working on programs like the A350XWB and A320neo, as well as future aircraft research.
