Job Description
Join Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company (AIUC), an innovative startup focused on evaluating, certifying, and insuring AI agents. As the Founding Product Engineer, you will be the first engineer on the team, working directly with the founders to shape the product development process and build trust with clients. The company has secured $15M in funding, led by prominent investors, and boasts a team with experience from leading organizations such as Anthropic, McKinsey, and MongoDB.
In this role, you will tackle the core technical challenge of accurately evaluating AI agent failures in deployment, designing the gold standard for secure and reliable agents, and developing tooling for monitoring, filtering, and authorization. The position offers a salary range of $200K - $350K along with equity ranging from 0.5-2.5%.

Responsibilities
- Shape how we test products
- Build trust from clients
- Build the world’s most accurate evals for how AI agents fail in deployment settings (hallucinations, jailbreaks, brand disasters, data leakage, etc.)
- Design the gold standard for what secure, safe, reliable agents looks like
- Build the tooling (monitoring, filters, authorization, etc.) to help AI agent builders meet the standard
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience as an AI software engineer
