Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ADC Engineer III to join their Amazon Dedicated Cloud Relational Engineering team. This role focuses on supporting and advancing mission-critical services for U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies. The position involves working with the latest cloud computing technologies and being part of the largest cloud infrastructure globally.

The role is within the AWS Utility Computing (UC) organization, which provides foundational services like S3 and EC2, along with continuous product innovations. You'll be working specifically with Amazon's database offerings including Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EMR, RDS, and Redshift - services that form a critical part of today's internet infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include leading ADC service builds and operations, diagnosing complex issues, mentoring team members, participating in on-call rotations, and collaborating across teams for deployment planning. The position requires deep technical expertise in cloud computing, particularly in relational database services within Amazon's dedicated cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems administration, cloud technologies, and a strong background in troubleshooting complex technical issues. A current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is mandatory, as you'll be working directly with intelligence and defense agencies.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazon's world-class technical team in Arlington, VA, working alongside top engineers while developing your skills in one of the most innovative technology companies. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $139,500 to $210,000 per year, depending on location and experience, plus additional benefits and equity opportunities.

The position combines technical leadership, operational excellence, and strategic thinking, making it ideal for someone who wants to make a significant impact in cloud computing while working on highly secure and mission-critical systems. You'll be part of a culture that values learning, curiosity, and inclusive team dynamics, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and career growth.
