Description For Business Intelligence Engineer III, Core Shopping Analytics

Core Shopping (CS) Analytics at Amazon is a crucial team that transforms raw data into actionable insights, enhancing customer experience across Amazon's store platform. The role involves working with the Buying Experience team, focusing on analytics for Navigation, Homepage, Inspire, App First, Detail Page, Cart, Checkout, and related experiences.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer III, you'll be responsible for managing and analyzing large-scale datasets to understand customer behavior and product evaluation patterns. The position operates in 5-week sprints, with dedicated time for planning, execution, and continuous learning. You'll work with multi-TB datasets, leveraging advanced SQL and Python skills to deliver insights that drive business decisions.

The team currently supports 500+ Builders and 100+ partner teams through various data services and analytics solutions. You'll be joining a dynamic environment where you'll contribute to building derived/aggregate datasets, conducting analysis, and implementing learnings to improve customer experience.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $117,300 to $202,800 based on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Business Intelligence Engineer III, Core Shopping Analytics

  • Be an Analytics subject matter expert for the Buying Experience team
  • Own core datasets to understand customer engagement with core features on Detail Page
  • Develop framework to understand levers driving successful experience
  • Build automated reporting with actionable insights
  • Deliver in-depth analysis and recommendations to drive product roadmap
  • Partner with Science teams to improve relevance
  • Drive adoption of dataset and mental model across Consumer organization

Requirements For Business Intelligence Engineer III, Core Shopping Analytics

Python
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
