AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The Data Center Global Services (DCGS) team is seeking a passionate, results-oriented Civil Engineer to drive design and construction in a client-side technical lead role for enterprise data center campus projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from site due diligence through construction completion
- Collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams
- Leading early work civil design packages for mega-campus Data Centre projects across Asia Pacific
- Utilizing Civil 3D design software to prepare 3D models and 2D drawings
- Analyzing external consultant civil designs, reports, and planning documents
- Identifying, developing, and implementing automation to standardize civil design processes
- Familiarity with civil regulations and permitting processes

Responsibilities For Civil Designer, DC Design Engineering
- Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from site due diligence through construction completion
- Collaborate with internal and external multidisciplinary teams
- Lead early work civil design packages for mega-campus Data Centre projects across Asia Pacific
- Utilize Civil 3D design software to prepare 3D models and 2D drawings
- Analyze external consultant civil designs, reports, and planning documents
- Identify, develop, and implement automation to standardize civil design processes
- Work with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) civil regulations and permitting processes
Requirements For Civil Designer, DC Design Engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
- 8+ years professional experience in land development, commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial site-civil design and remediation
- Solid knowledge and experience in civil design software such as Civil 3D or equivalent
- Proficiency in earthworks, grading, paving, storm water, utility design, and landscaping
- Experience as a Civil Designer for 5+ years, focusing on subdivision and infrastructure projects (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to think outside the box for innovative solutions
- Knowledge of land development permit approval processes and Australian design standards and guidelines (preferred)
