As a Cloud Operations Manager for AWS Managed Services (AMS), you will be at the forefront of Cloud technologies, interacting with the full breadth of AWS services. The AMS team provides ongoing management of AWS infrastructure to corporate clients without an internal team of engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and Execute Business Priorities: Set strategic goals, plan key projects, and track progress.
- Team and Performance Development: Manage performance, careers, and mentor team members.
- Operational Excellence: Drive best practices and optimize customer-focused operations.
- Recruiting and Hiring
- Be the voice of the customer and work with internal AWS resources to meet SLAs.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders to improve operational practices and collaborate across customer organizations and AWS teams to deliver exceptional service.

- Define strategic goals for the team
- Plan and document key projects and initiatives
- Track progress of initiative outcomes against goals
- Ensure the team remains unblocked and focused
- Manage performance and career development for the team
- Mentor team members
- Drive operational excellence across the site and globe
- Identify and own local and global initiatives to optimize customer-focused operations
- Recruit and hire team members
- Work with internal AWS resources to ensure customer SLAs are met
- Raise awareness of customer-impacting issues and drive prioritization for fixes
Requirements For Cloud Operations Manager, AWS Managed Services (AMS)
- 5+ years of team management experience
- Experience in Managed Service provider - managing IT environments on behalf of customers
- Technical background and working knowledge of protocols (HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP) and cloud service offerings (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Able to communicate effectively in English, within technical and business settings
