Join AWS as a Cloud Support Engineer in their Latin American premier engineering team, where you'll be at the forefront of cloud technology innovation. This role combines technical expertise with customer service excellence, focusing on AWS Compute Technologies including EC2 Core/Linux, Elastic Block Store (EBS), LightSail, ElastiCache, Outposts, and Systems Manager.

As part of AWS Support Engineering, you'll work in a global, customer-facing organization operating on a follow-the-sun model. You'll support a diverse portfolio of companies, from successful startups to Global 500 enterprises, helping them leverage AWS services effectively. The role requires strong technical skills in Linux systems administration, networking, and security, combined with excellent communication abilities in both English and Portuguese.

Your responsibilities will span from solving complex technical issues through various channels to driving process improvements and mentoring team members. Responsibilities For Cloud Support Engineer II - Linux (English/Portuguese speakers)

  • Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, and web/live chat)
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions
  • Drive initiatives to improve support-related processes and customer experience
  • Provide feedback to internal AWS teams on service improvements
  • Work on critical, complex customer problems across multiple AWS services
  • Coach/mentor new team members and participate in hiring processes
  • Work 5 days a week on a rotational basis (including occasional weekends)

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer II - Linux (English/Portuguese speakers)

MySQL
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics or related field or equivalent military experience
  • 3+ years of related professional experience
  • Experience with system administration and troubleshooting operating systems (Linux and/or Windows)
  • Experience with networking (HTTP/s, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN)
  • Experience with OS administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with security in Linux (filesystem permissions)
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken)
