Description For Cloud Support Engineer (Linux)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer to join their Support team, working with the latest cloud computing technologies. This role is at the forefront of cloud technology, helping a global customer base maximize their AWS investment. As a Cloud Ambassador, you'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide solutions across AWS services, and ensure customer success.

The position requires working night shifts in India (7 PM to 4 AM IST or 11 PM to 8 AM IST) on a 5-day rotational schedule. You'll be part of AWS's 24/7/365 operations, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques, partnering with development teams, and driving customer success through various channels including phone, email, and chat support.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of technical experience, strong Linux/Unix administration skills, and networking knowledge. You'll have opportunities to mentor others, develop training materials, create automation tools, and work on process improvements.   • Solve customer cases through various contact channels (telephone, email, web/chat)
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide solutions
  • Coach/mentor new hires
  • Develop & present training
  • Partner with development teams on complex issues
  • Write tools/scripts to help the team

Requirements For Cloud Support Engineer (Linux)

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in a technical position
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a technical position (Support or System Administration)
  • Proficiency in Systems Administration in Linux/Unix (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, etc)
  • Troubleshooting Linux OS and package management
  • Good understanding of Networking concepts like TCP/IP, DHCP, IP Routing and Name Resolution
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken)
