Description For Construction Manager, AMER Central Construction

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Construction Manager, you'll join a diverse team tasked with building industry-leading, energy-efficient, and cost-effective data centers. You'll work directly on construction sites as Amazon's owner's representative, managing construction vendors and contractors while driving cost, schedule, and quality outcomes.

The role involves working alongside Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams to build data centers that directly support AWS customers. You'll be responsible for some of the most sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems globally, leveraging unique opportunities from design review through construction execution and final handoff.

You'll be part of a team that includes software engineers, hardware engineers, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Together, you'll work on challenging problems involving thousands of supply chain variables while maintaining the highest standards for safety and security.

The position requires strong technical expertise in construction management, particularly with large-scale MEP plants, along with excellent project management skills. You'll be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from bidding and contractor negotiations to quality control and project closeout. The role demands a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, particularly related to data center infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to join a company that's continuously raising its performance bar and striving to become Earth's Best Employer. You'll find endless knowledge-sharing opportunities, mentorship, and career-advancing resources to help you develop into a well-rounded professional in the dynamic field of data center construction.
