Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer to join their Infrastructure Services team. This role is crucial in supporting AWS's global data center operations, from design inception through maintenance and optimization. As the technical expert for your region, you'll lead projects to enhance data center capacity, efficiency, and sustainability while ensuring continuous operation of critical infrastructure.

The position combines hands-on engineering with strategic planning, requiring expertise in electrical systems and data center operations. You'll collaborate with diverse teams including operations, design, construction, and commissioning to maintain AWS's high standards of reliability and innovation. The role offers a unique blend of office and field work, allowing you to directly impact AWS's global infrastructure.

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for keeping the cloud running, managing all aspects of AWS global infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. Responsibilities For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

  • Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
  • Support operational issues with training and procedure reviews
  • Own conceptual design for data center upgrades and design-solutions
  • Interface with internal teams to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers
  • Lead engineering audits and produce risk assessment reports
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects

Requirements For Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience using web-based and software tools for calculation and data processing
  • Strong Engineering Judgement
