Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Frontend Engineer & UX/UI Designer to join their Data & Machine Learning team within the WWPS US Federal division. This role combines frontend development expertise with UX/UI design skills to create innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Federal agencies. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for complex data and AI applications.

The role requires a hybrid work arrangement, with at least 1+ days per week at the office or customer sites in Arlington or Herndon, VA. As a frontend engineer and UX designer, you'll be responsible for developing and deploying user interfaces that integrate with backend services, working alongside scientists and application developers to create novel solutions for real-world problems.

Key responsibilities include interfacing with customers to understand their vision, designing and iterating on user experiences, and implementing frontend solutions that meet accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance. The position requires strong technical skills in frontend development, experience with modern design tools like Figma or Sketch, and the ability to create visually appealing, accessible interfaces.

AWS offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $118,200 to $204,300 depending on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and extensive benefits. The team culture emphasizes work-life harmony, diversity and inclusion through employee-led affinity groups, and continuous learning opportunities through mentorship and career development programs.

This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance, reflecting the sensitive nature of working with federal agencies. The ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of UX/UI design experience, strong technical expertise in cloud computing, and a passion for creating user-friendly interfaces that help government agencies harness the power of data and AI capabilities.
