Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network aimed at delivering fast, reliable internet to customers worldwide. This role involves leading a team of engineers responsible for designing standardized test equipment for shop floor manufacturing at both contract manufacturing and Kuiper factory locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading complex system-level analyses across multiple subsystems
  • Driving technical strategy and architectural decisions for test systems
  • Developing processes for system design communication
  • Leading technical risk assessments
  • Deriving requirements for system efficiency
  • Conducting trade space studies
  • Leading collaboration across technical teams
  • Implementing architecture improvements
  • Mentoring on systems engineering best practices

The role requires expertise in embedded systems, test equipment standardization, and manufacturing processes. You'll work with software and hardware teams, identify requirements, prioritize efforts, and provide updates to senior management.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years professional experience in IT, automated test equipment, or embedded systems
  • 5+ years project management experience
  • Strong background in embedded system test rack configuration
  • Experience with hardware/software integration
  • Track record of manufacturing process improvements

The role is based in Bellevue, WA and requires US citizenship or permanent residency due to export control regulations.
