Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative, aimed at delivering fast, reliable internet to customers and communities worldwide. The system is designed with capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve diverse customers from households to organizations.

As a Launch Operations Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining code infrastructure and software procedures for processing Kuiper satellites pre-launch. This role combines software engineering with hands-on satellite hardware interaction, making it ideal for someone who bridges both worlds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining satellite processing software test procedures
  • Managing code pipeline infrastructure
  • Testing satellite code using hardware-in-loop systems
  • Supporting manufacturing engineers with test requirements
  • Creating automated testing systems
  • Collaborating across hardware and software teams

The role requires a unique blend of software expertise and hardware understanding, as you'll work directly with manufacturing teams at launch sites and various software teams throughout Kuiper. You'll be the final touchpoint for satellite processing before launch, combining inputs from multiple teams and experts.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $89,200 to $185,000 per year based on location, plus comprehensive benefits including equity and sign-on payments. This role is based in Merritt Island, FL, with up to 10% travel required.

Note: Due to export control laws, candidates must be U.S. citizens, nationals, permanent residents, or those granted refugee/asylum status.
