Responsibilities For Operations Engineer, AWS Managed Services
- Troubleshoot application deployments and recreate customer issues
- Build and maintain CloudFormation templates, Chef cookbooks and shell scripts
- Collaborate on internal tools and utilities
- Provide customer support during critical events
- Write tutorials, how-to videos, and technical articles for the AWS community
- Work on complex customer problems spanning multiple AWS services
- Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions
- Provide feedback to internal AWS teams based on customer experiences
Requirements For Operations Engineer, AWS Managed Services
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or experience in technical support
- Experience in network and operating system support
- Experience with virtualization, orchestration and cloud computing (e.g., Hypervisors, VMware, Xen)
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools)
- Strong technical background in application management and software development
- Proficiency with Chef, Git, SVN, and at least one popular programming language
- Experience as a Systems Administrator working with Linux, Unix or Windows
