OSP Design Engineer, Metro Fiber, Fiber Engineering

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. We're looking for talented Fiber Engineers to help build one of the world's largest and most complex networks.

As a Fiber Engineer, you'll:

• Design fiber solutions and maintain records of fiber optic infrastructure using GIS and associated tools
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders
• Create engineering designs, documents, single line drawings, cable routing, and splicing work packages
• Ingest and audit GIS data for completeness and accuracy
• Optimize processes to improve efficiency and delivery

The ideal candidate will have:

• BS or MS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
• 2+ years experience working in GIS Systems
• 2+ years experience in project/program management
• 2+ years of outside/inside plant engineering experience
• Understanding of Underground Construction Techniques
• Understanding of Outside and Inside Plant Cabling and Routing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
