Principal Systems Development Engineer, Region Services

AWS is seeking a Principal Systems Development Engineer to join their Region Services team in London. This role combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on engineering, focusing on DevOps, SRE, and Systems Development. The position involves working with AWS's massive-scale infrastructure, helping shape the future of cloud computing.

The role will initially focus on supporting the ADC (Amazon Data Center) launch, improving operational efficiencies, and implementing automation. By 2026, the focus will shift to understanding and addressing new customer needs, potentially leading to new AWS service features and capabilities.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll be responsible for both technical leadership and evangelism, working across teams to solve complex architectural challenges and improve operational excellence. The role requires expertise in distributed systems, automation, and large-scale operations, with opportunities to influence AWS's global infrastructure.
