Description For RDSE Software Support Engineer

Ring, an Amazon company, is seeking a Software Support Engineer to join their Data Science and Engineering team. This role is integral to supporting Ring's growing analytics and operational needs. The position sits within a dynamic organization divided into three key areas: Data Operations, Data Warehouse, and Data Science and Analytics.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical data infrastructure that powers Ring's smart home security ecosystem. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including AWS services, handling everything from real-time telemetry streaming to operational analytics platforms. The role offers an opportunity to work with various teams across the organization, from EventStream and LogStream to Business Intelligence and Data Science.

As a Software Support Engineer, you'll be at the intersection of technical support and software development, troubleshooting complex systems while also contributing to automation and improvement initiatives. Responsibilities For RDSE Software Support Engineer

  • Provide support for technical and operational tasks for Ring Data Science Engineering Team
  • Support incoming tickets including extensive troubleshooting tasks
  • Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects and AWS technologies
  • Software deployment support in staging and production environments
  • Automate processes to reduce operations and maintenance
  • System and Support status reporting
  • Ownership of one or more Digital products or components
  • Customer notification and workflow coordination

Requirements For RDSE Software Support Engineer

Linux
  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience in Unix
  • Experience scripting in modern program languages
  • Good knowledge about Database concepts
