Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to create a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, designed to provide high-speed internet access globally. As a Satellite Test Engineer in the Integrated Vehicle Testing team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of satellite systems before launch. This position combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning, requiring expertise in both hardware testing and software automation.

The role involves working with cutting-edge space technology, developing and executing comprehensive test campaigns for fully integrated satellites. You'll collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines, from avionics to payload systems, ensuring each component meets rigorous space-ready standards. The position requires working second shift hours, highlighting the 24/7 nature of satellite operations.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone passionate about space technology and complex systems testing. You'll be part of Amazon's mission to bridge the global digital divide, working with state-of-the-art satellite systems and test infrastructure. The role offers competitive compensation ($89,200-$185,000 based on location and experience) and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise in hardware testing, programming skills (particularly in Python or C), and strong collaborative abilities. You'll need to be detail-oriented yet able to see the bigger picture of how your work contributes to launching thousands of satellites successfully. The position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to export control regulations.

Working at Project Kuiper means joining a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in satellite communications. You'll have the opportunity to innovate, solve complex problems, and directly impact a project that aims to improve internet connectivity for communities worldwide.
