Description For Security Engineer, AWS Cloud Response

AWS is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Cloud Response team in Australia. This role is crucial in managing the security and availability of AWS Cloud services, operating on the 'AWS' side of the Shared Responsibility Model to ensure "Security of the Cloud" and protect customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Triaging new issues to assess risk levels and prioritize remediation
  • Communicating issue status to various audiences, including senior leadership
  • Promoting security across the company and building relationships with partner teams
  • Managing priorities effectively while remaining productive
  • Escalating issues appropriately based on impact
  • Identifying improvements for tools and processes to enhance efficiency
  • Participating in on-call rotations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or 3+ years of equivalent technology experience
  • 3+ years of experience in systems, network, and/or application security
  • Understanding of security best practices across multiple domains
  • 2+ years of scripting/coding experience (Python preferred)
