Amazon Security is seeking an experienced and innovative Security Engineer to join their Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMRO) team in Sydney, Australia. The VMRO team plays a crucial role in Amazon's security infrastructure, being responsible for discovering, assessing, triaging, detecting, and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities across the entire Amazon ecosystem. Your responsibilities will span across multiple critical security areas, including analyzing vulnerability disclosures, evaluating potential impacts, and understanding technical details of vulnerabilities affecting Amazon's infrastructure, services, and applications. You'll work closely with builder teams to implement security fixes and contribute to the development of automation tools and workflows to enhance team operations.
The role requires a strong technical foundation with at least 2 years of security engineering experience in vulnerability management or vulnerability signature detection development. You should be proficient in programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, or C++. Knowledge of common vulnerability scanning tools and network security fundamentals is highly valued.
