Security Engineer, Kuiper Security Controls and Assurance

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative, designed to bring fast and reliable internet connectivity to communities worldwide. As a Security Engineer in the Kuiper Enterprise Technology team, you'll play a crucial role in analyzing and implementing security controls for this innovative space technology project.

The position combines technical security expertise with strategic compliance management, requiring both deep technical knowledge and strong collaborative skills. You'll work at the intersection of security implementation and compliance, ensuring Kuiper's systems meet rigorous security standards while enabling the mission of global internet connectivity.

Your responsibilities will span from hands-on security control implementation to high-level program management. You'll be involved in threat modeling, source code review, and security vulnerability assessment, while also managing relationships with various stakeholders including Kuiper Security, Global Trade and Compliance, and service teams.

The role offers unique challenges in securing space technology infrastructure while maintaining compliance with various standards including ISO 27001 and NIST. You'll have the opportunity to drive automation initiatives, develop security metrics, and implement innovative solutions for complex compliance challenges.

This position requires a U.S. Citizenship due to export control requirements, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work. The compensation is competitive, ranging from $136,000 to $212,800 per year, with additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage.
