Description For Site Risk & Due Diligence Manager, Risk and Resiliency

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

As a Site Risk & Due Diligence Manager, you will:

  • Lead technical site due diligence projects, partnering with stakeholders across the AWS infrastructure organization.
  • Shape the future of AWS' infrastructure growth and investments.
  • Play a key role in site selection and site due diligence for new and existing AWS regions.
  • Scope technical studies and analysis required to evaluate prospective datacenter sites.
  • Hire and oversee the work of engineering and technical consultancies.
  • Understand inter-relationships between technical disciplines and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
  • Interpret results to make site acquisition, design, engineering, and technology recommendations.
  • Evaluate the impact of identified site risks and constraints on development costs and schedules.

Key responsibilities:

  • Guide the expansion of AWS infrastructure in new and existing regions.
  • Own infrastructure site selection and due diligence projects.
  • Scope, contract, supervise, coordinate, and interpret engineering, environmental, and technical studies.
  • Manage budgets, establish schedules, escalate technical and project risks.
  • Own multidisciplinary preliminary design for sites consistent with AWS standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong track record of technical program management.
  • Ability to deliver multiple high priority projects simultaneously.
  • Skill in driving alignment across teams with competing priorities.
  • Strong advocacy for technical risk management.
