Software Development Engineer, Books Detail Page

Scale at Amazon is truly massive, and as a Software Development Engineer in the Books Detail Page team, you'll be at the heart of Amazon's eCommerce experience. This role offers an opportunity to impact millions of customers worldwide through the development of the Amazon Books Detail Page, a cornerstone of Amazon's Books eCommerce funnel. You'll be joining at an exciting phase of customer-focused innovation, working within a charter of three collaborative teams.

The role combines technical excellence with customer-centric feature development. Your daily responsibilities will include reviewing operational metrics, participating in team stand-ups, designing new features, writing high-quality code, and reviewing pull requests. You'll work closely with TPMs and Product Managers to refine requirements and ensure technical feasibility, while also having the opportunity to mentor junior engineers.

The Books Detail Page team has successfully addressed technical debt and is now focused on creating compelling features that enhance the book discovery and evaluation process. You'll be part of a small, diverse team that makes the Amazon magic happen by developing innovative solutions that help readers make informed decisions about their book purchases.

This position offers the chance to work on high-scale, complex systems that require innovative thinking and technical excellence. You'll own the entire page experience and be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from design to production deployment.
