AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The GCNA-D team is part of the Internet Edge organization, responsible for connecting Amazon to the global Internet. This role is within AWS Networking, specifically working on the backbone that connects the global AWS network. The position involves building and designing complex backbone networks that enable efficient internet traffic flow between Data Centers and customers.
As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll be working on critical infrastructure that keeps the cloud running, supporting AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing massive capacity at optimal costs.
The role requires strong distributed systems knowledge, design and implementation experience, and the ability to lead and mentor other engineers. You'll be working with various data sources, solving problems at scale, and building new services using AWS technologies.
