Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Manufacturing Systems Engineering

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative, aimed at delivering high-speed internet connectivity to communities worldwide. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) team plays a crucial role in building standardized, automated, and scalable manufacturing systems for this cutting-edge project.

As a Software Development Engineer in the MSE team, you'll be at the forefront of developing software solutions that enhance the speed and quality of Kuiper manufacturing systems. The role involves working with Python, Java, or Rust, and leveraging AWS cloud services to create robust manufacturing solutions. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to improve throughput and accelerate transition processes.

The position requires expertise in AWS infrastructure and services such as Lambda, IAM, SNS/SQS, DocumentDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IoT. You'll be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional software development experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of designing scalable systems. The compensation package is highly competitive, ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 based on location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage.
