Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Production Operations

Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network focused on delivering fast, reliable internet globally. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering team under Project Kuiper Production Operations is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and improve satellite component testing systems.

The role involves developing software and frameworks that enhance testing speed and quality for satellite components. You'll work closely with engineering and production teams to implement reliable and repeatable systems while improving throughput and accelerating transitions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full software development lifecycle participation
• Stakeholder collaboration with factory planners and technicians
• Technical project leadership across satellite software and hardware teams
• Complex problem-solving with focus on performance and reliability
• Integration of software solutions with test chambers and satellite components
• AWS infrastructure utilization (Lambda, IAM, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, etc.)
• Engineering mentorship and culture building

The Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) team focuses on building standardized, automated, and scalable manufacturing systems. They serve as the crucial interface between engineering and production, ensuring seamless integration of software and hardware components in developing production-ready systems.

This position requires US citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee/asylum status due to export control laws. The compensation ranges from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on location and experience, plus benefits and potential equity compensation.
