Description For Software Development Engineer, Project Kuiper Mobile App

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). As a Senior Software Engineer on the Kuiper Mobile App team, you'll play a crucial role in developing native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) applications that will serve as the primary interface for customers worldwide.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work on a groundbreaking project aimed at bridging the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities globally. You'll be part of a highly collaborative team that values people over process and empowers each member to have significant impact on the product direction.

In this role, you'll lead design discussions, collaborate with UX designers and Product Managers, and mentor junior developers while working with the latest technologies from Android and Apple. The team owns both Native iOS and Android stacks, providing opportunities to develop expertise in both platforms. You'll be responsible for creating applications that guide customers through device setup, service plan management, and home network configuration.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 based on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who want to make a global impact while working with cutting-edge space and mobile technologies.

The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or admitted refugees/asylees. Join us in building the future of global connectivity through innovative mobile solutions.
