Description For Software Development Engineer, Region Authority

The Region Authority team at Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their foundational technology team. This role focuses on building highly scalable and reliable systems that enable the definition, discovery, and management of regional coverage areas through curated geographic boundaries. The team owns Tier-1 services that efficiently index and discover available, buyable offers based on customer location across Amazon's shopping experience, processing hundreds of thousands of requests per second at peak from over a hundred clients.

As a Software Development Engineer on this team, you'll work with customers and peers across Amazon's entire business spectrum to deliver innovative features. The role combines both pioneering technology development and practical business problem-solving. You'll be responsible for maintaining and scaling critical infrastructure that supports Amazon's regional operations and customer experience.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other benefits.
