Job Description

Project Kuiper is an innovative space technology initiative by Amazon focused on delivering global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit. As a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer for the Kuiper Global Customer Operations team, you'll play a crucial role in building analytics across Kuiper's global Customer Service and Field Operations organizations. This position combines technical expertise in data analytics with business acumen to drive decision-making and operational improvements.

You'll be responsible for developing and managing data infrastructure, creating analytics products, and providing data-driven insights that will help shape the future of global satellite broadband services. The role requires expertise in SQL, ETL processes, and data visualization tools, along with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.

Working within the Worldwide Consumer team, you'll collaborate with stakeholders to understand their goals and challenges, work with software and product teams to source data, and develop self-serve analytics tools using platforms like AWS QuickSight. Your work will directly impact Kuiper's ability to deliver fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $117,300 to $202,800 per year, depending on location, plus comprehensive benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data professional who wants to contribute to a groundbreaking technological initiative while working with cutting-edge data tools and technologies.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills with business acumen, leadership experience, and a passion for using data to drive decision-making. You'll need to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export control requirements, and bring at least 5 years of business intelligence experience to the role.

Responsibilities For Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Kuiper Global Customer Operations

  • Work closely with Kuiper Customer Service and Field Operations teams to understand challenges and provide analysis
  • Own data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving
  • Develop key metrics and performance indicators
  • Build self-service reporting platforms
  • Write high quality queries to retrieve and analyze data
  • Define analytical approaches and metrics strategy
  • Lead efforts to develop data infrastructure and analytical tools

Requirements For Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Kuiper Global Customer Operations

Python
  • 5+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
  • 3+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with ETL
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
