Sr Mechanical Process Engineer, Product Engineering

Amazon China is seeking a Senior Mechanical Process Engineer (MPE) to join their team. This role involves working closely with teams in both the US and China throughout the product design cycle. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing mechanical part production processes
• Providing design recommendations to the ID & PD teams
• Driving engineering studies and improving part yield rates
• Monitoring and driving activities at suppliers
• Working with the PE TPM team to provide timely feedback on technical risks
• Communicating engineering issues to cross-functional teams
• Serving as the primary contact for technical issue resolution across the supply base

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of experience in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, or Tooling Engineering
• Ability to lead projects with minimal guidance
• Experience in High Volume Production (1M+ annual production)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written English communication skills
• Experience working onsite with manufacturers and suppliers
• Familiarity with Pro/Engineer and MS Office suite

Preferred qualifications include:

• Advanced technical degree
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like Minitab
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of all phases of the product development lifecycle
• Fluency in Chinese
