Amazon's Stores Security team plays a crucial role in protecting customer trust across Amazon's diverse portfolio, from drones to grocery stores. Within this team, the Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMR Operations) organization manages the complete vulnerability lifecycle. This Senior Security Engineer position focuses on building and maturing VMR Operations programs, with emphasis on the Campaign Management Program.
The role combines technical security expertise with program management, requiring deep knowledge of vulnerability management and security operations. You'll work closely with engineers and leaders across Amazon to assess security risks, design mitigations, and drive remediation efforts. Responsibilities For Sr. Security Engineer, Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations
- Define and enforce quality bar for security, privacy, and compliance campaigns across Amazon
- Leverage relationships with engineers and managers across Stores Security to intake, prioritize, and launch security campaigns
- Build trust with Amazon builders by ensuring high-quality campaigns
- Partner with peers to continuously improve the Campaign Management Program
- Drive risk-based decisions across complex, multi-disciplinary programs
Requirements For Sr. Security Engineer, Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical degree; or 4+ years equivalent technology experience
- 7 years engineering experience in system, network, and/or application security or the development of security products
- 5 years experience improving accuracy of vulnerability detection mechanisms across a diverse technical ecosystem
- 5 years experience and deep knowledge of vulnerabilities, exploits and vulnerability management systems
- Experience building applications or systems on cloud-based services
