Sr. Software Development Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions

Project Kuiper is an innovative satellite communications initiative developing a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide high-speed broadband connectivity globally. As a Sr. Software Development Engineer in the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) team, you'll be at the forefront of developing secure satellite communications technologies for US National and International security and defense customers.

The role involves designing and maintaining foundational software that extends Kuiper capabilities to government customers like NASA and DoD. You'll create mission-critical space safety applications that coordinate with external systems at scale. The position requires expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant software development, particularly using modern languages like Rust.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll collaborate across hardware, security, systems, and product teams to develop real-time solutions for government customers. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 based on location, plus benefits and potential equity.

Key technical responsibilities include developing high data rate packet processing systems, implementing Software Defined Networking solutions, and ensuring systems meet strict government performance and security requirements. You'll lead both internal and vendor teams, demonstrate capabilities in simulated environments, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

This is an on-site position available in Redmond, WA, El Segundo, CA, or Northridge, CA, with relocation benefits available. Due to the sensitive nature of KGS projects, the role requires US citizenship and full-time on-site presence.
