Job Description

Join AWS as a System Development Engineer in the Core Network team, where you'll build the cloud rather than just use it. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with world-class network experts in a dynamic, start-up-like environment. You'll be responsible for developing, managing, and innovating the software tools and services that power AWS's vast network infrastructure.

As part of the Systems Development team, you'll manage software services and platforms that build, operate, and monitor the AWS network within entire regions. Your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of one of the world's largest cloud networks. You'll collaborate closely with network engineers to automate processes and develop innovative solutions for complex operational challenges.

The position offers significant learning and growth opportunities, with exposure to cutting-edge technologies and mentorship from industry-leading engineers. You'll work in an Agile environment with advanced tools and processes, contributing to high-impact projects with considerable autonomy and ownership.

Key responsibilities include designing new software components, troubleshooting technical issues, implementing monitoring solutions, and developing automation tools. The role requires a strong background in software development or systems engineering, understanding of network fundamentals, and proficiency in modern programming languages.

AWS values diverse experiences and maintains an inclusive culture with ten employee-led affinity groups across 190 global chapters. The team emphasizes work-life harmony and provides comprehensive support for new members through knowledge sharing and mentorship programs. This position requires UK nationality and the ability to obtain UK Government Security Clearance.

Join a team that's dedicated to transforming complex operational challenges into scalable systems, working alongside talented professionals who are passionate about innovation and customer success.
