Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Managed Operations (MO) organization, founded in April 2023, is seeking a System Development Engineer II to join their AWSOM Team. This role combines operational management of AWS's massive software systems with engineering initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency. The position offers a unique balance of 50% operations and 50% system improvement work, focusing on AWS Regions' availability, reliability, and performance optimization.

The role involves working with some of the largest software systems ever built, tackling challenges in technical, business, and cultural transformation to improve reliability and efficiency. You'll be part of a best-in-class engineering and operations team responsible for AWS Regions' day-to-day operations, while also driving long-term engineering projects to reduce operational toil.

The position offers exposure to a wide range of systems and technologies that power one of the world's leading cloud providers.

AWS values diverse experiences and welcomes candidates from non-traditional backgrounds. The company offers comprehensive benefits, including medical coverage, financial benefits, and work-life harmony. You'll join an inclusive culture with employee-led affinity groups and ongoing learning opportunities. Career growth is supported through mentorship and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The compensation is competitive and location-based, ranging from $116,300 to $201,200 per year, plus equity and additional benefits.
