Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative aimed at delivering fast, reliable internet globally. As a Systems Development Engineer on the Ground Infrastructure team, you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining the tools and processes that monitor, operate, and scale ground infrastructure to serve millions of users worldwide.

The role involves designing and implementing robust, scalable systems while focusing on operational excellence through automation. You'll work on critical infrastructure, develop monitoring tools, and ensure high availability of ground systems. Key responsibilities include automating manual processes, building maintainable systems, creating health reporting tools, and participating in on-call rotations for incident response.

The position requires expertise in large-scale infrastructure automation, modern programming languages, and Linux/Unix systems. You'll collaborate with business partners and engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Australia, contributing to the mission of ensuring Kuiper Ground Infrastructure's constant availability.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about distributed systems and infrastructure at scale. The role offers competitive compensation ($116,300-$201,200 base salary) and comprehensive benefits. Due to export control regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have refugee/asylum status.

The team culture emphasizes continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence. You'll work in a dynamic environment where your ideas and initiative directly impact the customer experience and the success of Amazon's satellite internet initiative.
